Check out this BBC article about E7, a female Bar-tailed Godwit that completed a week-long, food & water-free 11,500km non-stop flight from Alaska to New Zealand. Satellite telemetry confirmed the impressive feat. Way to go, E7! I wonder how much body mass these birds burn off? Tell you what, E7- why don't you take a few days off to grab a bite to eat.p.s. I'll extend the invitation to any Bar-tailed Godwit to make the shorter, easier flight to Colorado whenever they'd like!
